Are You Clear On Your Tribe?
During the holidays and special occasions, one of the thorns in the flesh of many people is dealing with their families. As we grow up, many of us discover we are out of resonance with our families of origin.
For me, I discovered that I had them in a box! They were not the strange people that I accused them of being, but instead, I really was different. I was entrepreneurial; they loved their jobs. I enjoyed some amount of risk taking; they did not. So I was always afraid to tell them what was going on with me as I anticipated their disapproval. I put them in that box out of my fear of their disapproval.
I also fooled myself into thinking they were strange when that was not the case at all.
Well, after my parents died, my siblings and I made a decision to get to know each other better. They have been nothing short of supportive. They have been amazing.
Now, not too many people have my kind of family but you do not have to have blood family on your team or even in your tribe.
We want to be around people that are liked minded: People that share your values and are generous with support; people that see you as amazing and want the best for you. That is your tribe.
This type of support is instrumental in your ongoing programming success. That is why I blog and reach other to others because I want us to be safe with each other and create support for each other.
We human beings were created to be individuals in groups. We absolutely need the group and we need to hold on to our sense of individual identity.
Online social media allows you to connect with like minded people all over the world. I have met and connected with the most amazing people online – including you!
